2023 Awards Ceremony

On November 1, 2023, the awards ceremony took place at the residence of the French Ambassador of the U.S. Due to COVID-19, the 2019 and 2020 ceremonies were postponed.

However, Mme Aurélie Bonal, Deputy Chief of Mission (as represetative for Ambassador Laurent Bili who was called away), and president of the U.S. delegation, Bernie Duhaime were able to award recipients with their well-deserved honors.

The United States delegation has now been able to present their medals to very worthy recipients. Several attempts were made to hold the ceremonies, but global circumstances and scheduling conflicts prevented the French Embassy in Washington, D.C., from hosting the events.

Fortunately, on November 1, 2023, the awards ceremony was able to be held (as is tradition) at the residence for he French Ambassador of the United States. The extremely welcoming staff of the embassy ensured that the celebrations were an unbridled success.

Champagne topped the evening as a long-overdue toast to the honorable recipients were finally presented their dues.

The following medals were
presented:

  • James Baker, La Médalle d’Or du Rayonnement Culturel

  • Dennis Stroughmatt, La Médalle d’Or du Rayonnement Culturel
